Hard Monkey Productions started out on the idea that I needed to figure out a way to bring more culture and understanding into a world that, at times, I don’t recognize anymore from the one I remember only a decade or so ago.
The name Hard Monkeys was inspired by an old Alvin Lee and Ten Years After song about getting the monkey off your back. Having been clean and sober nearly four decades now, I tend to look through the camera using the lens of of my own checkered past along with the valuable knowledge and life lessons I’ve gained from the those decades spent in 12-step fellowships.
Giving back to society by exploring, learning to understand what is foreign to me, and then attempting to put it into a visual, verbal, and written format that I can share with others is my passion.
It took me a long, long time to figure that out. I’m still learning…
